Offshore Natural Gas Production from 2010 to 2015

The total offshore natural gas production in India was 44796 Million Metric Standard Cubic Meters (MMSCM) in the year 2010. It decreased to 23862 MMSCM in the year 2015, recording a decrease of -20934 MMSCM as compared to the year 2010. In percentage terms, the decrease in the offshore natural gas production was -46.73% during the period between the year 2010 and the year 2015.

The total natural gas production of ONGC (Mumbai High) was 17502 MMSCM in the year 2010. It decreased to 16966 MMSCM in the year 2015, recording a decrease of -536 MMSCM as compared to the year 2010. In percentage terms, the decrease in the offshore natural gas production of ONGC (Mumbai High) was -3.06% during the period between the year 2010 and the year 2015.

The total natural gas production of JVC/Private firms engaged in the production of offshore natural gas in India was 27293 MMSCM in the year 2010. It decreased to 6896 MMSCM in the year 2015, recording a decrease of -20397 MMSCM as compared to the year 2010. In percentage terms, the decrease in the offshore natural gas production of JVC/Private firms was -74.73% during the period between the year 2010 and the year 2015.

The total natural gas production in India, including both the onshore and offshore natural gas production, was 53328 MMSCM in the year 2010. It decreased to 32956 MMSCM in the year 2015, recording a decrease of -20372 MMSCM as compared to the year 2010. In percentage terms, the decrease in the natural gas production was -38.2% during the period between the year 2010 and the year 2015. The decline in total natural gas production in India was mainly due to steep decline in offshore natural gas production in India during the period under consideration.
