OBC Male Students Availing Scholarship in 2012-13

Ministry of Human Resource Development had initiated an All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) in 2011 to prepare a sound database on Higher Education in the country.  The survey covers all the institutions in the country engaged in imparting the higher education.  It is getting updated from the annual data submitted by the institutions.

The number of Other Backward Classes (OBC) male students availing scholarship for higher education in All India in 2012-2013 was 1093610. The Top 5 State/UTs with the maximum number of OBC male students getting scholarship in 2012-2013 were: Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

The number of OBC male students availing scholarship for higher education in Maharashtra in 2012-2013 was 202947. Thus, the percentage of OBC male students availing scholarship for higher education in Maharashtra was 18.56% of total OBC male students availing scholarship for higher education in India in 2012-13. The number of OBC male students availing scholarship for higher education in Tamil Nadu in 2012-2013 was 150043. Thus, the percentage of OBC male students availing scholarship for higher education in Tamil Nadu was 13.72% of total OBC male students availing scholarship for higher education in India in 2012-13. The number of OBC male students availing scholarship for higher education in Uttar Pradesh in 2012-2013 was 134308. Thus, the percentage of OBC male students availing scholarship for higher education in Uttar Pradesh was 12.28% of total OBC male students availing scholarship for higher education in India in 2012-13.

The number of OBC male students availing scholarship for higher education in Andhra Pradesh in 2012-2013 was 121355. Thus, the percentage of OBC male students availing scholarship for higher education in Andhra Pradesh was 11.1% of total OBC male students availing scholarship for higher education in India in 2012-13. The number of OBC male students availing scholarship for higher education in Madhya Pradesh in 2012-2013 was 116789. Thus, the percentage of OBC male students availing scholarship for higher education in Madhya Pradesh was 10.68% of total OBC male students availing scholarship for higher education in India in 2012-13.
