Number of traffic accidents by month of occurrence during 2013

There have been total 475625 traffic accidents during 2013 with monthly average of 39635 traffic accidents. The daily average of traffic accidents is 1303 traffic accidents per day during the year of 2013. In terms of the various categories of traffic accidents: there were 443001 road accidents with monthly average of 36917 accidents; 1388 rail-road accidents with monthly average of 116 accidents; and 31236 other railway accidents with monthly average of 2603 accidents.

The detailed analysis of month wise data shows that the maximum number of traffic accidents during 2013, have occurred in the month of May, which accounts for 46031 (9.68%) out of the total 475625 traffic accidents during the year. May month had an average of 1485 traffic accidents per day. The second highest occurrence of traffic accidents took place during the month of January which had 41805 (8.79%) traffic accidents during the period.
The minimum occurrence of traffic accidents took place in the month of August i. e. 36467 traffic accidents with an average of 1176 traffic accidents per day in the month of August during 2013.
