Number of Central Co-operative Banks in Various States in 2013-14

The number of central co-operative banks in India was 370 in 2013-14. The top 10 states in terms of the number of central co-operative banks were: Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Karnataka, Punjab and Haryana in 2013-14.

The number of central co-operative banks in Uttar Pradesh was 50 in 2013-14. It accounted for 13.51% of the number of central co-operative banks in India in 2013-14. The number of central co-operative banks in Madhya Pradesh was 38 in 2013-14. It accounted for 10.27% of the number of central co-operative banks in India in 2013-14. The number of central co-operative banks in Maharashtra was 31 in 2013-14. It accounted for 8.38% of the number of central co-operative banks in India in 2013-14. The number of central co-operative banks in Rajasthan was 29 in 2013-14. It accounted for 7.84% of the number of central co-operative banks in India in 2013-14. The number of central co-operative banks in Tamil Nadu was 23 in 2013-14. It accounted for 6.22% of the number of central co-operative banks in India in 2013-14. These top 5 states accounted for 46.22% of the total number of central co-operative banks in India as a whole in 2013-14.

The number of central co-operative banks in Andhra Pradesh was 22 in 2013-14 (5.95% of All India). The number of central co-operative banks in Bihar was 22 in 2013-14 (5.95% of All India). The number of central co-operative banks in Karnataka was 21 in 2013-14 (5.68% of All India). The number of central co-operative banks in Punjab was 20 in 2013-14 (5.41% of All India). The number of central co-operative banks in Haryana was 19 in 2013-14 (5.14% of All India).

The above mentioned top 10 states accounted for 74.35% of the total number of central co-operative banks in India as a whole in 2013-14. Among the various states of India, the inter-state range of number of central co-operative banks was between 2 to 50.
