Meat Production Estimates during 2014-15

The meat production estimate for India was 6691.07 thousand metric tonnes during 2014-15. The top 10 states in terms of the meat production estimate were: Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Haryana, Bihar and Punjab during 2014-15.

The meat production estimate for Uttar Pradesh was 1397.19 thousand metric tonnes during 2014-15. It was 20.88% of the total meat production estimate in India during 2014-15.

The meat production estimate for West Bengal was 657.17 thousand metric tonnes during 2014-15. It was 9.82% of the total meat production estimate in India during 2014-15. The meat production estimate for Maharashtra was 630.62 thousand metric tonnes during 2014-15. It was 9.42% of the total meat production estimate in India during 2014-15.

The meat production estimate for Andhra Pradesh was 527.68 thousand metric tonnes during 2014-15. It was 7.89% of the total meat production estimate in India during 2014-15. The meat production estimate for Telangana was 505.05 thousand metric tonnes during 2014-15. It was 7.55% of the total meat production estimate in India during 2014-15.

These top 5 states accounted for 55.56% of the total meat production estimate in India as a whole in 2014-15.

The meat production estimate in Tamil Nadu was 491.93 thousand metric tonnes in 2014-15 (7.35% of All India). The meat production estimate in Kerala was 445.83 thousand metric tonnes in 2014-15 (6.66% of All India). The meat production estimate in Haryana was 381.4 thousand metric tonnes in 2014-15 (5.7% of All India). The meat production estimate in Bihar was 294.33 thousand metric tonnes in 2014-15 (4.4% of All India). The meat production estimate in Punjab was 236.87 thousand metric tonnes in 2014-15 (3.54% of All India).

The above mentioned top 10 states accounted for 83.21% of the total meat production estimate in India as a whole in 2014-15.
