Market-wise Export of Marine Products in 2012-13 and 2013-14

The total export of marine products from India to various markets of the world was 928214 metric tonnes in the year 2012-13. It increased to 983756 metric tonnes in the year 2013-14, recording a growth of 55542 metric tonnes (5.98%) as compared to 2012-13.

The total export of marine products to Japan was 76648 metric tonnes in the year 2012-13. It declined to 71484 metric tonnes in the year 2013-14, recording a decline of -5164 metric tonnes (-6.74%) as compared to 2012-13.

The total export of marine products to U.S.A. was 92447 metric tonnes in the year 2012-13. It increased to 110880 metric tonnes in the year 2013-14, recording a growth of 18433 metric tonnes (19.94%) as compared to 2012-13.

The total export of marine products to European Union was 158357 metric tonnes in the year 2012-13. It increased to 174686 metric tonnes in the year 2013-14, recording a growth of 16329 metric tonnes (10.31%) as compared to 2012-13.

The total export of marine products to South East Asia including China was 428720 metric tonnes in the year 2012-13. It increased to 455844 metric tonnes in the year 2013-14, recording a growth of 27124 metric tonnes (6.33%) as compared to 2012-13. South East Asia including China was the largest market for export of marine products from India in both the years viz. 2012-13 and 2013-14.

The total export of marine products to Middle East was 41419 metric tonnes in the year 2012-13. It increased to 58040 metric tonnes in the year 2013-14, recording a growth of 16621 metric tonnes (40.13%) as compared to 2012-13.

The total export of marine products to other markets was 130623 metric tonnes in the year 2012-13. It declined to 112822 metric tonnes in the year 2013-14, recording a decline of -17801 metric tonnes (-13.63%) as compared to 2012-13.
