Manpower Employed in Oil & Gas CPSEs as on 31st March 2019

Totally the number of manpower employed in oil & gas central public sector enterprises (CPSEs) was 106,733 as on 31st March 2019. The top 3 CPSEs with respect to manpower employed in oil & gas as on 31.03.2019 were IOCL, ONGC and BPCL.

There were 33,498 manpower employed in IOCL as on 31st March 2019, which accounted 31.4% of the total manpower employed in oil & gas CPSEs. Out of total employments in IOCL as on 31/03/2019; 0, 14,119, 15,765, 3,173, 441 and 0 manpower were employed in exploration & production, refining, marketing, pipelines, research & development and other sector respectively.

The number of manpower employed in ONGC was 31,065 as on 31st March 2019. It accounted 29.1% of the total manpower employed in oil & gas CPSEs as on the same period. Out of total employments in ONGC as on 31.03.2019; 27,342, 204, 48, 97, 1,135 and 2,239 manpower were employed in exploration & production, refining, marketing, pipelines, research & development and other sector respectively.

There were 11,923 manpower employed in BPCL as on 31st March 2019, which accounted 11.2% of the total manpower employed in oil & gas CPSEs. Out of total employments in BPCL as on 31/03/2019; 44, 4,425, 6,899, 248, 95 and 212 manpower were employed in exploration & production, refining, marketing, pipelines, research & development and other sector respectively.
