Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) is a Government of India scheme designed to meet the financing needs of non-corporate small business units of the country. The idea is to provide financial support for small business which employ majority of the Indian working population.

The total amount disbursed under PMMY in India was Rs. 132954.73 crores as on 31.03.2016. The top 10 states in terms of the total amount disbursed under PMMY were: Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha as on 31.03.2016.

The total amount disbursed under PMMY in Karnataka was Rs. 16469.43 crores as on 31.03.2016. It was 12.39% of the total amount disbursed under PMMY in India as on 31.03.2016.

The total amount disbursed under PMMY in Tamil Nadu was Rs. 15496.86 crores as on 31.03.2016. It was 11.66% of the total amount disbursed under PMMY in India as on 31.03.2016. The total amount disbursed under PMMY in Maharashtra was Rs. 13372.42 crores as on 31.03.2016. It was 10.06% of the total amount disbursed under PMMY in India as on 31.03.2016.

The total amount disbursed under PMMY in Uttar Pradesh was Rs. 11880.93 crores as on 31.03.2016. It was 8.94% of the total amount disbursed under PMMY in India as on 31.03.2016. The total amount disbursed under PMMY in Madhya Pradesh was Rs. 7769.29 crores as on 31.03.2016. It was 5.84% of the total amount disbursed under PMMY in India as on 31.03.2016.

These top 5 states accounted for 48.89% of the total amount disbursed under PMMY in India as a whole as on 31.03.2016.

The total amount disbursed under PMMY in West Bengal was Rs. 7740.41 crores as on 31.03.2016 (5.82% of All India). The total amount disbursed under PMMY in Bihar was Rs. 7265.91 crores as on 31.03.2016 (5.46% of All India). The total amount disbursed under PMMY in Gujarat was Rs. 5910.02 crores as on 31.03.2016 (4.45% of All India). The total amount disbursed under PMMY in Andhra Pradesh was Rs. 5790.79 crores as on 31.03.2016 (4.36% of All India). The total amount disbursed under PMMY in Odisha was Rs. 5436.26 crores as on 31.03.2016 (4.09% of All India).

The above mentioned top 10 states accounted for 73.07% of the total amount disbursed under PMMY in India as a whole as on 31.03.2016.
