The number of Integrated Rehabilitation Centres for Addicts (IRCAs), run by NGOs being supported under the scheme of assistance for prevention of alcoholism and substance (drugs) abuse, in India was 428 during April 2016.
There were 8 states having more than 20 Integrated Rehabilitation Centres for Addicts viz. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Punjab, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Manipur during April 2016.
The number of Integrated Rehabilitation Centres for Addicts in Maharashtra was 67 during April 2016. Maharashtra had a share of 15.65% in the total number of IRCAs in India during April 2016. Maharashtra was the only state to have more than 50 Integrated Rehabilitation Centres for Addicts during April 2016 among all the states and UTs in India.
The number of Integrated Rehabilitation Centres for Addicts in Karnataka was 36 during April 2016. Karnataka had a share of 8.41% in the total number of IRCAs in India during April 2016. The number of Integrated Rehabilitation Centres for Addicts in Punjab was 35 during April 2016. Punjab had a share of 8.18% in the total number of IRCAs in India during April 2016.
The number of Integrated Rehabilitation Centres for Addicts in Odisha was 34 during April 2016. Odisha had a share of 7.94% in the total number of IRCAs in India during April 2016. The number of IRCAs in Uttar Pradesh was 30 during April 2016. Uttar Pradesh had a share of 7.01% in the total number of IRCAs in India during April 2016.
The number of IRCAs in Tamil Nadu was 29 during April 2016 (6.78% share in All India). The number of IRCAs in Kerala was 24 during April 2016 (5.61% share in All India). The number of IRCAs in Manipur was 21 during April 2016 (4.91% share in All India).
