The imports of hot-rolled flat products of alloy or non-alloy steel from Brazil was 135829 metric tonnes in 2012-13. It decreased to 39054 metric tonnes in 2013-14, recording an absolute decrease of -96775 metric tonnes as compared to 2012-13. In percentage terms, the annual decrease recorded was -71.25% in 2013-14. It increased to 81511 metric tonnes in 2014-15, recording an absolute growth of 42457 metric tonnes as compared to 2013-14. In percentage terms, the annual growth recorded was 108.71% in 2014-15.
The imports of hot-rolled flat products of alloy or non-alloy steel from China was 649268 metric tonnes in 2012-13. It decreased to 438719 metric tonnes in 2013-14, recording an absolute decrease of -210549 metric tonnes as compared to 2012-13. In percentage terms, the annual decrease recorded was -32.43% in 2013-14. It increased to 1319606 metric tonnes in 2014-15, recording an absolute growth of 880887 metric tonnes as compared to 2013-14. In percentage terms, the annual growth recorded was 200.79% in 2014-15.
The imports of hot-rolled flat products of alloy or non-alloy steel from Japan was 762308 metric tonnes in 2012-13. It decreased to 580847 metric tonnes in 2013-14, recording an absolute decrease of -181461 metric tonnes as compared to 2012-13. In percentage terms, the annual decrease recorded was -23.8% in 2013-14. It increased to 879361 metric tonnes in 2014-15, recording an absolute growth of 298514 metric tonnes as compared to 2013-14. In percentage terms, the annual growth recorded was 51.39% in 2014-15.
The imports of hot-rolled flat products of alloy or non-alloy steel from Korea was 699993 metric tonnes in 2012-13. It decreased to 331835 metric tonnes in 2013-14, recording an absolute decrease of -368158 metric tonnes as compared to 2012-13. In percentage terms, the annual decrease recorded was -52.59% in 2013-14. It increased to 803485 metric tonnes in 2014-15, recording an absolute growth of 471650 metric tonnes as compared to 2013-14. In percentage terms, the annual growth recorded was 142.13% in 2014-15.
The imports of hot-rolled flat products of alloy or non-alloy steel from Russia was 258259 metric tonnes in 2012-13. It decreased to 74459 metric tonnes in 2013-14, recording an absolute decrease of -183800 metric tonnes as compared to 2012-13. In percentage terms, the annual decrease recorded was -71.17% in 2013-14. It increased to 166963 metric tonnes in 2014-15, recording an absolute growth of 92504 metric tonnes as compared to 2013-14. In percentage terms, the annual growth recorded was 124.23% in 2014-15.
The imports of hot-rolled flat products of alloy or non-alloy steel from Indonesia was 10 metric tonnes in 2012-13. It increased to 13 metric tonnes in 2013-14, recording an absolute growth of 3 metric tonnes as compared to 2012-13. In percentage terms, the annual growth recorded was 30% in 2013-14. It further increased to 13495 metric tonnes in 2014-15, recording an absolute growth of 13482 metric tonnes as compared to 2013-14. In percentage terms, the annual growth recorded was 103707.69% in 2014-15. This huge growth in percentage terms was due to extremely low base in the previous year.
