Import of various Products of Synthetic Fibre of Major Petrochemicals from 2009-10 to 2016-17

Synthetic Fibre is one of the groups under Import of Major Petrochemicals. Under Synthetic Fibre group there are various products namely; Acrylic Fibre, Nylon Filament Yarn, Nylon Industrial Yarn/Tyre Cord, Polyester Filament Yarn, Polyester Staple Fibre, Polypropylene Filament Yarn and Polypropylene Staple Fibre.

Import of Acrylic Fibre was 14568 metric tonne during 2009-10. An annual growth of 62.07% was seen in import of Acrylic Fibre during 2010-11 to 23611 metric tonne over 2009-10. We have observed an annual decline of -6.29% in import of Acrylic Fibre from 39238 metric tonne during 2015-16 to 36771 metric tonne during 2016-17. A Maximum import of 39238 metric tonne was recorded in Import of Acrylic Fibre in 2015-16 during the period from 2009-10 to 2016-17. Import of Nylon Filament Yarn was 6624 metric tonne during 2009-10. An annual growth of 173.82% was seen in import of Nylon Filament Yarn during 2010-11 to 18138 metric tonne over 2009-10. We have observed an annual growth of 7.22% in import of Nylon Filament Yarn from 28972 metric tonne during 2015-16 to 31063 metric tonne during 2016-17. A Maximum import of 31063 metric tonne was recorded in Import of Nylon Filament Yarn in 2016-17 during the period from 2009-10 to 2016-17.

Import of Nylon Industrial Yarn/Tyre Cord was 10789 metric tonne during 2009-10. An annual growth of 13.72% was seen in import of Nylon Industrial Yarn/Tyre Cord during 2010-11 to 12269 metric tonne over 2009-10. We have observed an annual growth of 75.49% in import of Nylon Industrial Yarn/Tyre Cord from 4411 metric tonne during 2015-16 to 7741 metric tonne during 2016-17. A Maximum import of 12269 metric tonne was recorded in Import of Nylon Industrial Yarn/Tyre Cord in 2010-11 during the period from 2009-10 to 2016-17. Import of Polyester Filament Yarn was 50095 metric tonne during 2009-10. An annual decline of -32.74% was seen in import of Polyester Filament Yarn during 2010-11 to 33692 metric tonne over 2009-10. We have observed an annual growth of 16.2% in import of Polyester Filament Yarn from 72605 metric tonne during 2015-16 to 84367 metric tonne during 2016-17. A Maximum import of 84367 metric tonne was recorded in Import of Polyester Filament Yarn in 2016-17 during the period from 2009-10 to 2016-17.

Import of Polyester Staple Fibre was 14417 metric tonne during 2009-10. An annual growth of 118.83% was seen in import of Polyester Staple Fibre during 2010-11 to 31549 metric tonne over 2009-10. We have observed an annual growth of 0.09% in import of Polyester Staple Fibre from 99719 metric tonne during 2015-16 to 99809 metric tonne during 2016-17. A Maximum import of 99809 metric tonne was recorded in Import of Polyester Staple Fibre in 2016-17 during the period from 2009-10 to 2016-17. Import of Polypropylene Filament Yarn was 1214 metric tonne during 2009-10. An annual growth of 22.65% was seen in import of Polypropylene Filament Yarn during 2010-11 to 1489 metric tonne over 2009-10. We have observed an annual decline of -0.29% in import of Polypropylene Filament Yarn from 697 metric tonne during 2015-16 to 695 metric tonne during 2016-17. A Maximum import of 1899 metric tonne was recorded in Import of Polypropylene Filament Yarn in 2011-12 during the period from 2009-10 to 2016-17.

Import of Polypropylene Staple Fibre was 153 metric tonne during 2009-10. An annual decline of -20.26% was seen in import of Polypropylene Staple Fibre during 2010-11 to 122 metric tonne over 2009-10. We have observed an annual growth of 6.95% in import of Polypropylene Staple Fibre from 1885 metric tonne during 2015-16 to 2016 metric tonne during 2016-17. A Maximum import of 2016 metric tonne was recorded in Import of Polypropylene Staple Fibre in 2016-17 during the period from 2009-10 to 2016-17.
