Import of Products of Performance Plastics in Major Petrochemicals from 2009-10 to 2016-17

There were various products of Performance Plastics of major petrochemicals namely ABS Resin, Nylon-6, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Styrene Acrylonitrile, Polyester Chips/Pet Chips and Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) imported to India during 2009-10 to 2016-17.

We have witnessed an annual growth of 13.99% in import of ABS Resin from 90081 metric tonne during 2015-16 to 102685 metric tonne during 2016-17. Compound annual growth rate of 19.01% has been observed in import of ABS Resin during 2009-10 to 2016-17. A maximum annual growth of 52.21% was observed in import of ABS Resin in 2010-11 during the period from 2010-11 to 2016-17. We have seen an annual growth of 9.87% in import of Nylon-6 from 144545 metric tonne during 2015-16 to 158810 metric tonne during 2016-17. Compound annual growth rate of 19.79% has been observed in import of Nylon-6 during 2009-10 to 2016-17. A maximum annual growth of 35.38% was observed in import of Nylon-6 in 2010-11 during the period from 2010-11 to 2016-17.

We have observed an annual growth of 33.81% in import of Polymethyl Methacrylate from 20309 metric tonne during 2015-16 to 27175 metric tonne during 2016-17. Compound annual growth rate of 21.04% has been observed in import of Polymethyl Methacrylate during 2009-10 to 2016-17. A maximum annual growth of 148.54% was observed in import of Polymethyl Methacrylate in 2010-11 during the period from 2010-11 to 2016-17. We have seen an annual de-growth of -10.73% in import of Styrene Acrylonitrile from 9569 metric tonne during 2015-16 to 8542 metric tonne during 2016-17. Compound annual growth rate of 16.69% has been observed in import of Styrene Acrylonitrile during 2009-10 to 2016-17. A maximum annual growth of 69.37% was observed in import of Styrene Acrylonitrile in 2010-11 during the period from 2010-11 to 2016-17.

We have seen an annual decline of -3.45% in import of Polyester Chips/Pet Chips from 122206 metric tonne during 2015-16 to 117996 metric tonne during 2016-17. Compound annual growth rate of 24.77% has been observed in import of Polyester Chips/Pet Chips during 2009-10 to 2016-17. A maximum annual growth of 140.54% was observed in import of Polyester Chips/Pet Chips in 2010-11 during the period from 2010-11 to 2016-17. We have seen an annual growth of 7.09% in import of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) from 2086 metric tonne during 2015-16 to 2234 metric tonne during 2016-17. Compound annual growth rate of 2.26% has been observed in import of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) during 2009-10 to 2016-17. A maximum annual growth of 12.81% was observed in import of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) in 2013-14 during the period from 2010-11 to 2016-17.
