Import of Major Organic Chemicals in 2014-15

The total import of Organic Chemicals in India was 2885815 metric tonnes during the year 2014-15.

The import of Acetic Acid was 712384 metric tonnes during the year 2014-15. It accounted for 24.69% of the total imports of Organic Chemicals in India during 2014-15. The import of Acetone was 126832 metric tonnes during the year 2014-15. It accounted for 4.4% of the total imports of Organic Chemicals in India during 2014-15. The import of Phenol was 200115 metric tonnes during the year 2014-15. It accounted for 6.93% of the total imports of Organic Chemicals in India during 2014-15. The import of Methanol was 1641624 metric tonnes during the year 2014-15. It accounted for 56.89% of the total imports of Organic Chemicals in India during 2014-15. The import of Citric Acid was 67369 metric tonnes during the year 2014-15. It accounted for 2.33% of the total imports of Organic Chemicals in India during 2014-15.

The import of Maleic Anhydride was 38388 metric tonnes during the year 2014-15. It accounted for 1.33% of the total imports of Organic Chemicals in India during 2014-15. The import of Pentaerythritol was 13681 metric tonnes during the year 2014-15. It accounted for 0.47% of the total imports of Organic Chemicals in India during 2014-15. The import of Aniline was 36095 metric tonnes during the year 2014-15. It accounted for 1.25% of the total imports of Organic Chemicals in India during 2014-15. The import of Mek was 27539 metric tonnes during the year 2014-15. It accounted for 0.95% of the total imports of Organic Chemicals in India during 2014-15. The import of Ethanolamines was 11286 metric tonnes during the year 2014-15. It accounted for 0.39% of the total imports of Organic Chemicals in India during 2014-15. These 10 chemicals accounted for 99.63% of the total imports of Organic Chemicals in India during 2014-15.

Other Organic Chemicals viz. Acetic Anhydride, Formaldehyde, Nitrobenzene, Chloro Methanes, Isobutylbenzene, ONCB, PNCB, Acetaldehyde, Ethyl Acetate, Menthol and Ortho Nitro Toluene constituted 0.36% of the total imports of Organic Chemicals in India during 2014-15.
