IIP: Medical/Precision/Optical instruments, Watches; Motor vehicles, Other Transport Equipment, Furniture and Manufacturing n.e.c. from 2005-06 to 2013-14

The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) is a composite indicator that measures the changes in the volume of production of a basket of industrial products during a given period with respect to the volume of production in a chosen base period. IIP currently has 2004-05 as base year.

Medical; precision and optical instruments; watches and clocks category has a weightage of 5.67 in IIP. It accounts for the 0.75% of the total Manufacturing Sector (with weight of 755.27 in IIP) and 0.57% of the entire IIP (having total weight of 1000). It has increased from 95.35 in the year 2005-2006 to 111.13 in the year 2013-14. It has shown total increase of 15.78 points during the period from 2005-06 to 2013-14. The average annual growth in the index from 2005-06 to 2013-14 was 1.97 points.

Motor vehicles; trailers and semi-trailers category has a weightage of 40.64 in IIP. It accounts for the 5.38% of the total Manufacturing Sector (with weight of 755.27 in IIP) and 4.06% of the entire IIP (having total weight of 1000). It has increased from 110.13 in the year 2005-2006 to 221.33 in the year 2013-14. It has shown total increase of 111.2 points during the period from 2005-06 to 2013-14. The average annual growth in the index from 2005-06 to 2013-14 was 13.9 points.

Other transport equipment category has a weightage of 18.25 in IIP. It accounts for the 2.42% of the total Manufacturing Sector (with weight of 755.27 in IIP) and 1.83% of the entire IIP (having total weight of 1000). It has increased from 115.31 in the year 2005-2006 to 249.5 in the year 2013-14. It has shown total increase of 134.19 points during the period from 2005-06 to 2013-14. The average annual growth in the index from 2005-06 to 2013-14 was 16.77 points.

Furniture; manufacturing n.e.c. category has a weightage of 29.97 in IIP. It accounts for the 3.97% of the total Manufacturing Sector (with weight of 755.27 in IIP) and 3% of the entire IIP (having total weight of 1000). It has decreased from 116.21 in the year 2005-2006 to 113.27 in the year 2013-14. It has shown total decrease of -2.94 points during the period from 2005-06 to 2013-14.
