IIP: Machinery, Computing, Electricals and Communication Equipment from 2005-06 to 2013-14

The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) is a composite indicator that measures the changes in the volume of production of a basket of industrial products during a given period with respect to the volume of production in a chosen base period. IIP currently has 2004-05 as base year.

Machinery and equipment n.e.c. category has a weightage of 37.63 in IIP. It accounts for the 4.98% of the total Manufacturing Sector (with weight of 755.27 in IIP) and 3.76% of the entire IIP (having total weight of 1000). It has increased from 126.07 in the year 2005-2006 to 219.23 in the year 2013-14. It has shown total increase of 93.16 points during the period from 2005-06 to 2013-14. The average annual growth in the index from 2005-06 to 2013-14 was 11.65 points.

Office; accounting and computing machinery category has a weightage of 3.05 in IIP. It accounts for the 0.4% of the total Manufacturing Sector (with weight of 755.27 in IIP) and 0.31% of the entire IIP (having total weight of 1000). It has decreased from 145.33 in the year 2005-2006 to 108.03 in the year 2013-14. It has shown total decrease of -37.3 points during the period from 2005-06 to 2013-14.

Electrical machinery and apparatus n.e.c. category has a weightage of 19.8 in IIP. It accounts for the 2.62% of the total Manufacturing Sector (with weight of 755.27 in IIP) and 1.98% of the entire IIP (having total weight of 1000). It has increased from 116.78 in the year 2005-2006 to 422.63 in the year 2013-14. It has shown total increase of 305.85 points during the period from 2005-06 to 2013-14. The average annual growth in the index from 2005-06 to 2013-14 was 38.23 points.

Radio; TV and communication equipment and apparatus category has a weightage of 9.89 in IIP. It accounts for the 1.31% of the total Manufacturing Sector (with weight of 755.27 in IIP) and 0.99% of the entire IIP (having total weight of 1000). It has increased from 122.68 in the year 2005-2006 to 730.11 in the year 2013-14. It has shown total increase of 607.43 points during the period from 2005-06 to 2013-14. The average annual growth in the index from 2005-06 to 2013-14 was 75.93 points.
