Gross Import of Crude Oil and Petroleum Products during 2004-12

India has witnessed an increasing trend in gross import of crude oil during 2004-12. Gross import of crude oil increased by 79.1% from 95861 thousand tonnes in 2004-05 to 171729 thousand tonnes in 2011-12. During 2004-12, gross import of petroleum products increased by 69.9% from 8828 thousand tonnes in 2004-05 to 14997 thousand tonnes in 2011-12.

During 2004-12, gross import of liquefied natural gas increased by 288.1% from 2500 thousand tonnes in 2004-05 to 9703 thousand tonnes in 2011-12.
