India has witnessed an upward trend in Gross Electricity Generation during 2010-11 to 2016-17. We have seen a compound annual growth rate of 6.09% in Gross Electricity Generation in India from 2010-11 to 2016-17. Gross Electricity Generation in India was 1005143.33 GWh during 2010-11. It has increased by 9.7% to 1102635.62 GWh during 2011-12 over 2010-11. We have observed an annual growth of 4.46% in Gross Electricity Generation in India to 1335956.19 GWh during 2015-16 versus 1278906.916 GWh during 2014-15. Gross Electricity Generation in India was 1433141.06 GWh during 2016-17, up by 7.27% over 2015-16.

Maximum annual growth rate of 9.7% has been seen in 2011-12 in Gross Electricity Generation in India during the period under consideration. Minimum annual growth rate of 0.53% has been seen in 2012-13 in Gross Electricity Generation in India during the period under consideration.
