Gender and Age Group-wise Percentage Recovery of Kidnapped and Abducted Child Victims in India during 2016

Total kidnapped and abducted child victims in India was 85100 till 2016, out of which 30772 were unrecovered victims of kidnapping & abduction from previous years and 54328 were kidnapped and abducted during 2016. Out of these 85100 kidnapped and abducted child victims in India till 2016; 43301 (50.9%) were recovered. Recovery of kidnapped and abducted child victims was 11537 (48%) for male and 31764 (52%) for female in India during 2016.

The number of kidnapped and abducted victims of male (below 6 years), female (below 6 years), male (6 to 12 years), female (6 to 12 years), male (12 to 16 years), female (12 to 16 years), male (16 to 18 years) and female (16 to 18 years) was 1767, 1841, 4713, 3797, 9971, 22867, 7564 and 32580 respectively in India till 2016. The number of kidnapped and abducted victims recovered was 691, 665, 2353, 1955, 5020, 12570, 3473 and 16574 of male (below 6 years), female (below 6 years), male (6 to 12 years), female (6 to 12 years), male (12 to 16 years), female (12 to 16 years), male (16 to 18 years) and female (16 to 18 years) respectively during 2016 in India. Hence, percentage recovery of male (below 6 years) was 39.1%, female (below 6 years) was 36.1%, male (6 to 12 years) was 49.9%, female (6 to 12 years) was 51.5%, male (12 to 16 years) was 50.3%, female (12 to 16 years) was 55%, male (16 to 18 years) was 45.9% and female (16 to 18 years) was 50.9% in India during 2016.

Maximum of 50.3% and minimum of 39.1% has been seen in age group of ‘12 to 16 years’ and ‘below 6 years’ respectively in recovery of kidnapped and abducted male child victims during 2016. Maximum of 55% and minimum of 36.1% has been observed in age group of ‘12 to 16 years’ and ‘below 6 years’ respectively in recovery of kidnapped and abducted female child victims during 2016.
