Gas Based Sponge Iron Production from 2013-14 to 2018-19

Production of Sponge Iron is through either Gas or Coal-based technology, which is also known as route. Compound annual growth rate of 20.79% has been observed in Gas based sponge iron production from 2013-14 to 2018-19. In absolute term the return was 157.14% in Gas based sponge iron production during the aforesaid period.

Gas based sponge iron production was 2683 thousand tonnes during 2013-14. It has decreased by -12.26% to 2354 thousand tonnes during 2014-15 above 2013-14. We have observed annual growth of 33.04% in Gas based sponge iron production during 2017-18 from 4854 thousand tonnes during 2016-17. Gas based sponge iron production was 6899 thousand tonnes during 2018-19, up by 6.83% versus 6458 thousand tonnes during 2017-18.

Maximum annual growth of 98.93% has been seen in 2016-17 in Gas based sponge iron production during the period under consideration. Highest annual decline of -12.26% has been found in 2014-15 in Gas based sponge iron production during the period under consideration.
