Funds provided by Govt. of India under Smart Cities Mission from 2015-16 to 2019-20

As per smart cities mission statement and guidelines, the central government proposes to give financial support over the mission period. An equal amount, on a matching basis, is to be provided by the state/ urban local body (ULB).

Funds provided by Govt. of India under smart cities mission was Rs. 1,496.2 crore in 2015-16. It has surged by 207.35% to Rs. 4,598.5 crore during 2016-17 against 2015-16. We have observed annual growth of 33.05% in funds provided by Govt. of India under smart cities mission during 2018-19 from Rs. 4,509.5 crore during 2017-18. In absolute term the increase was Rs. 1490.5 crore during 2018-19 above 2017-18.

Funds provided by Govt. of India under smart cities mission was Rs. 6,450 crore during 2019-20, up by 7.5% versus Rs. 6,000 crore during 2018-19. In absolute term the increase was Rs. 450 crore during 2019-20 above 2018-19.
