Funds allocated/released in upgradation of existing Central Forensic Science Laboratories (CFSLs) & for establishment of new CFSLs was Rs. 31.16 crore during 2017-18, up by 100.26% versus Rs. 15.56 crore during 2016-17. Annual growth of 5.42% has been observed in allocation/release of fund for upgradation of existing CFSLs & for establishment of new CFSLs to Rs. 32.85 crore during 2018-19 above 2017-18.
Funds utilized in upgradation of existing CFSLs and for establishment of new CFSLs was Rs. 14.09 crore in 2016-17. It has increased by 110.15% during 2017-18 to Rs. 29.61 crore above 2016-17. We have seen annual decline of -10 basis points in utilization of fund for upgradation of existing CFSLs & for establishment of new CFSLs to Rs. 29.58 crore in 2018-19 against 2017-18. Utilization of fund for upgradation of existing CFSLs & for establishment of new CFSLs was 90.55%, 95.03% and 90.05% in 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 respectively against allocation/release of fund for the same.
