Functioning of Health Sub Centres in India as on 31.03.2016

The total number of functioning Sub Centres for health facilities in India was 155708 as on 31st March 2016. The top 10 states in terms of the number of functioning Sub Centres were: Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Bihar, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh as on 31st March 2016.

The number of functioning Sub Centres in Uttar Pradesh was 20521 as on 31st March 2016. It accounted for 13.18% of the total number of functioning Sub Centres in India as on 31st March 2016. The number of functioning Sub Centres in Rajasthan was 14408 as on 31st March 2016. It accounted for 9.25% of the total number of functioning Sub Centres in India as on 31st March 2016. The number of functioning Sub Centres in Maharashtra was 10580 as on 31st March 2016. It accounted for 6.79% of the total number of functioning Sub Centres in India as on 31st March 2016. The number of functioning Sub Centres in West Bengal was 10369 as on 31st March 2016. It accounted for 6.66% of the total number of functioning Sub Centres in India as on 31st March 2016. The number of functioning Sub Centres in Bihar was 9729 as on 31st March 2016. It accounted for 6.25% of the total number of functioning Sub Centres in India as on 31st March 2016.

These top 5 states accounted for 42.13% of the total number of functioning Sub Centres in India as a whole as on 31st March 2016.

The number of functioning Sub Centres in Karnataka was 9332 as on 31st March 2016 (5.99% of All India). The number of functioning Sub Centres in Madhya Pradesh was 9192 as on 31st March 2016 (5.90% of All India). The number of functioning Sub Centres in Gujarat was 9156 as on 31st March 2016 (5.88% of All India). The number of functioning Sub Centres in Tamil Nadu was 8712 as on 31st March 2016 (5.60% of All India). The number of functioning Sub Centres in Andhra Pradesh was 7659 as on 31st March 2016 (4.92% of All India).

The above mentioned top 10 states accounted for 70.43% of the total number of functioning Sub Centres in India as a whole as on 31st March 2016.
