Functioning Community Health Centres (CHCs) as on 31.03.2016

The number of functioning Community Health Centres (CHCs) in India was 5510 as on 31st March, 2016. The top 10 states in terms of the number of functioning CHCs were: Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala and Karnataka as on 31st March, 2016.

The number of functioning CHCs in Uttar Pradesh was 773 as on 31st March, 2016. It accounted for 14.03% of the number of functioning CHCs in India as on 31st March, 2016.

The number of functioning CHCs in Rajasthan was 571 as on 31st March, 2016. It accounted for 10.36% of the number of functioning CHCs in India as on 31st March, 2016. The number of functioning CHCs in Tamil Nadu was 385 as on 31st March, 2016. It accounted for 6.99% of the number of functioning CHCs in India as on 31st March, 2016.

The number of functioning CHCs in Odisha was 377 as on 31st March, 2016. It accounted for 6.84% of the number of functioning CHCs in India as on 31st March, 2016. The number of functioning CHCs in Maharashtra was 360 as on 31st March, 2016. It accounted for 6.53% of the number of functioning CHCs in India as on 31st March, 2016.

These top 5 states accounted for 44.75% of the total number of functioning CHCs in India as a whole as on 31st March, 2016.

The number of functioning CHCs in West Bengal was 349 as on 31st March, 2016 (6.33% of All India). The number of functioning CHCs in Madhya Pradesh was 334 as on 31st March, 2016 (6.06% of All India). The number of functioning CHCs in Gujarat was 322 as on 31st March, 2016 (5.84% of All India). The number of functioning CHCs in Kerala was 225 as on 31st March, 2016 (4.08% of All India). The number of functioning CHCs in Karnataka was 206 as on 31st March, 2016 (3.74% of All India).

The above mentioned top 10 states accounted for 70.8% of the total number of functioning CHCs in India as a whole as on 31st March, 2016.
