The chart demonstrates an inverse relationship between female literacy rate and maternal mortality rate. There has been a relationship shown that demonstrates if maternal mortality rate decreases, so does the infant mortality rate. The education of women can be correlated to the level of knowledge they have about infant nutrition and their own nutrition, both of which are important for an infant’s health.
