Expenditure incurred for Renewable Energy from 2016-17 to 2020-21

The expenditure incurred over the past five years i.e. 2016-17 to 2020-21(up to 28-2-2021) for harnessing new and renewable energy was Rs.18269.22 crores. In 2020-21, expenditure incurred was Rs. 2565.52 crores followed by Rs. 3542.76 crores in 2019-20, Rs. 4476.2 crores in 2018-19, Rs. 3768.73 crores in 2017-18, Rs. 3916.01 crore in 2016-17.
A total of 46.39 GW of renewable energy capacity (excluding large hydro) has been added during the last five years i.e 2016-17 to 2020-21(till 28-2-2021).
