Expenditure for Cancer Drugs Met out under Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme from 2016-17 to 2018-19

Department of Ex-Servicemen is taking care of retired army personnel under Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) through medical reimbursement to empanelled hospitals.

The number of bills for cancer drugs met out of medical reimbursement to empanelled hospitals under ECHS was 30247 during 2016-17. It has increased by 67.96% during 2017-18 above 2016-17. The number of bills for cancer drugs met out of medical reimbursement to empanelled hospitals under ECHS was 45793 during 2018-19, down by -9.54% against 50622 during 2017-18.

We have observed annual growth of 69.14% during 2017-18 in expenditure incurred for cancer drugs met out of medical reimbursement to empanelled hospitals under ECHS from Rs. 2.56 crore during 2016-17. The expenditure incurred for cancer drugs met out of medical reimbursement to empanelled hospitals under ECHS was Rs. 4.03 crore during 2018-19, down by -6.93% versus Rs. 4.33 crore during 2017-18.
