This visualization indicates the number of trainings for Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) and the number of beneficiaries in Madhya Pradesh from Year 2005-06 to 2013-14.
EDP is a programme meant to develop entrepreneurial abilities among the people. In other words, it refers to inculcation, development, and polishing of entrepreneurial skills into a person needed to establish and successfully run his / her enterprise. Thus, the concept of entrepreneurship development programme involves equipping a person with the required skills and knowledge needed for starting and running the enterprise.
In Madhya Pradesh, 871 EDP trainings had been conducted from year 2005-06 to 2013-14 and the number of beneficiaries was 25641 persons. In the year 2005-06, 32 trainings had been conducted and 800 persons were benefited from the programme. In the year 2006-07, 64 EDP trainings were conducted benefiting 2000 beneficiaries, recording growth of 150% in number of beneficiaries as compared to previous year. A bit of decline was seen in the number of trainings and the beneficiaries in year 2007-08, wherein 56 EDP training were conducted and 1680 person were benefited i.e. 16% decline compared to previous year.
There was a steady growth in the number of EDP trainings conducted and the number of beneficiaries since the year 2008-09. In the year 2008-09, 54 EDP trainings were conducted and 1500 persons were benefited. Thereafter, 70, 79 and 104 EDP trainings benefiting 1912, 2464 and 3199 persons in year 2010-11, 2011-12 and Year 2012-13 respectively. Thus, recording a growth of 19.87% in 2010-11, 28.87% in 2011-12 and 29.83% in 2012-13 in the beneficiaries.
In all these years, Year 2013-14 had a very high growth in EDP trainings as well as beneficiaries i.e. 347 trainings benefitting 10491 beneficiaries showing a growth of 227.95%.
