Department-wise Allocation of Funds on Education from 2015-16 to 2018-19

Total allocation of funds on education was Rs. 69074.76 crores during 2015-16. It has increased by 4.81% to Rs. 72394 crores during 2016-17 over 2015-16. We have observed annual growth of 6.68% in total allocation of funds on education to Rs. 85010.29 crores during 2018-19 versus Rs. 79685.95 crores during 2017-18.

Funds allocated to D/o School education & Literacy was Rs. 42219.5 crores during 2015-16. It has increased by 3.16% to Rs. 43554 crores during 2016-17 over 2015-16. Annual growth of 7.86% has been seen in allocation of funds to D/o School education & Literacy from Rs. 46356.25 crores during 2017-18 to Rs. 50000 crores during 2018-19. Maximum annual growth of 15.57% has been found in 2017-18 in allocation of funds to D/o School education & Literacy during the period under consideration.

Funds allocated to D/o Higher Education was Rs. 26855.26 crores during 2015-16. It has increased by 7.39% to Rs. 28840 crores during 2016-17 over 2015-16. We have found annual growth of 5.04% in allocation of funds to D/o Higher Education to Rs. 35010.29 crores during 2018-19 against Rs. 33329.7 crores during 2017-18. Maximum annual growth of 7.86% has been seen in 2018-19 in allocation of funds to D/o Higher Education during the period under consideration.
