Demand of Coal in India from 2013-14 to 2017-18

India has witnessed an increasing trend in demand of coal from 2013-14 to 2017-18. However we have seen compound annual growth rate of 4.23% in demand of coal in India during the same period.

Demand of coal in India was 769.69 MT during 2013-14. It has increased by 2.25% to 787.03 MT during 2014-15 above 2013-14. In absolute term the demand of coal in India increased by 17.34 MT in 2014-15 against 2013-14. Annual growth of 7.6% has been observed in demand of coal in India during 2016-17 from 822.36 MT during 2015-16. Demand of coal in India was 908.4 MT during 2017-18, up by 2.66% versus 884.87 MT during 2016-17. In absolute term the demand of coal in India increased by 23.53 MT in 2017-18 above 2016-17.
