Deaths by Factory/Machine Accidents during 2014

The total number of deaths by factory/machine accidents in India was 797 during 2014. The top 10 states/UTs in terms of deaths by factory/machine accidents in India during 2014 were: Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi.

The total number of deaths by factory/machine accidents in Gujarat was 97 during 2014, which was 12.17% of the total number of deaths by factory/machine accidents in India during the year. The total number of deaths by factory/machine accidents in Rajasthan was 84 during 2014, which was 10.54% of the total number of deaths by factory/machine accidents in India during the year. The total number of deaths by factory/machine accidents in Madhya Pradesh was 82 during 2014, which was 10.29% of the total number of deaths by factory/machine accidents in India during the year.

The total number of deaths by factory/machine accidents in Maharashtra was 73 during 2014, which was 9.16% of the total number of deaths by factory/machine accidents in India during the year. The total number of deaths by factory/machine accidents in Uttar Pradesh was 70 during 2014, which was 8.78% of the total number of deaths by factory/machine accidents in India during the year. In fact, these top 5 states accounted for more than half i.e. 50.94% of the total number of deaths by factory/machine accidents in India during 2014.
