Death due to Railway Crossing Accidents during 2015

There are two types of accidental deaths i.e. Natural accidental death and Un-Natural accidental death. Un-Natural accidental death consists of various causes like Air Crash, Ship Accidents, Collapse of Structure, Drowning, Electrocution, Accidental Explosion, Falls, Factory/Machine Accidents, Accidental Fire, Firearm, Mines or Quarry Disaster, Traffic Accidents, Stampede, Other Causes and Causes Not Known.

There were 336051 Un-Natural accidental deaths reported in India during the year 2015. Out of which 269277 (80.13%) were male, 66740 (19.86%) were female and 34 (0.01%) were transgender. Death due to Railway Crossing Accidents was one of the causes.

During 2015, there were 2650 deaths reported due to Railway Crossing Accidents. Out of which, 41 (1.55%) were in age group of ‘below 14 years, 144 (5.43%) were in age group ‘14 and above below 18 years, 817 (30.83%) were in age group ‘18 and Above – Below 30 years’, 893 (33.77%) were in age group ‘30 and above below 45 years’, 520 (19.62%) were in age group ‘45 and above below 60 years’, 235 (8.87%) were in age group ‘60 years above’.
