Cyclones hit to Gujarat during 1891 to 2017

Gujarat (West Coast) hit 22 times totally by cyclones with speed of 34 knots or more during 1891 to 2017; out of which 11 times was being punched with severe cyclonic storm with speed of 47 knots or more during the same period. Gujarat (West Coast) was being hit by two cyclones in each year during 1947, 1981 and 1998 with speed of 34 knots or more; out of which one severe cyclonic storm having 47 knots or more speed hit during all these three years.

Annually one time cyclones (34 knots or more) hit to Gujarat (West Coast) in 1920, 1948, 1961, 1964, 1975, 1976, 1982 and 1996 with one time severe cyclonic storm in each year with speed of 47 knots or more during the period under consideration. Other eight years i.e., 1892, 1893, 1894, 1897, 1903, 1917, 1930 and 1935 were found with one time hit to Gujarat (West Coast) with speed of 34 knots or more during the period under consideration.
