Crude Throughput by various category of refineries from 2011-12 to 2016-17

Refinery Crude Throughput (Crude Oil Processed) for the year 2016-17 was 245362.119 TMT (thousand metric tonnes) as against 232864.798 TMT in 2015-16, showing an increase of about 5.37%. Refinery Crude Throughput was 219211.779 TMT during 2012-13, up by 7.39% from 204121.392 TMT during 2011-12. Out of the total 245362.119 TMT Crude Throughput during 2016-17; 137387.837 TMT (55.99%) was by Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) refineries, 91092.765 TMT (37.13%) was by Private (Pvt.) refineries and 16881.517 TMT (6.88%) was by Joint Venture (JV) refineries.

Crude Throughput by CPSE refineries was 120895.134 TMT during 2011-12. It has decreased by -0.49% to 120302.726 TMT during 2012-13 over 2011-12. We have observed annual growth of 8.11% in Crude Throughput by CPSE refineries to 137387.837 TMT during 2016-17 versus 127087.278 TMT during 2015-16. Maximum annual growth of 8.11% has been seen in 2016-17 in Crude Throughput by CPSE refineries during the period under consideration.

Crude Throughput by Pvt. refineries was 81178.638 TMT during 2011-12. It has increased by 8.74% to 88273.107 TMT during 2012-13 over 2011-12. Annual growth of 2.74% has been seen in Crude Throughput by Pvt. refineries from 88662.008 TMT during 2015-16 to 91092.765 TMT during 2016-17. Maximum annual growth of 8.74% has been observed in 2012-13 in Crude Throughput by Pvt. refineries during the period under consideration.

Crude Throughput by JV refineries was 2047.62 TMT during 2011-12. It has increased by 419.43% to 10635.946 TMT during 2012-13 over 2011-12. We have seen annual decline of -1.37% in Crude Throughput by JV refineries to 16881.517 TMT during 2016-17 from 17115.512 TMT during 2015-16. Maximum annual growth of 419.43% has been observed in 2012-13 in Crude Throughput by JV refineries during the period under consideration.
