The top 3 countries with respect to import of crude oil from Middle-East countries by the Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) during 2017-18 were Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Crude oil imported from Iraq was 29.66 MMT during 2017-18, up by 19.6% versus 24.79 MMT during 2016-17. In value term it was Rs. 51142.78 crore and Rs. 74291.21 crore during 2016-17 and 2017-18 respectively. We have observed annual growth of 7.4% in import of crude oil from Saudi Arabia from 18.01 MMT during 2016-17 to 19.35 MMT during 2017-18. Its value was Rs. 17244.92 crore during 2016-17 and Rs. 29539.28 crore during 2017-18. Import of crude oil from Kuwait was 7.93 MMT during 2016-17. It has increased by 43.4% to 11.37 MMT during 2017-18 above 2016-17. In value term it was Rs. 17244.92 crore and Rs. 29539.28 crore during 2016-17 and 2017-18 respectively.
Import of crude oil from Iran, Qatar, UAE, Oman and Bahrain was 9.8, 0.9, 9.95, 1.9 and 0.28 MMT respectively during 2017-18. The value of imported crude oil was Rs. 25065.68, 2564, 26878.96, 5318.45 and 711.47 crore from Iran, Qatar, UAE, Oman and Bahrain respectively during 2017-18.
