Crops Damage due to Floods in India during 2015 to 2017

Due to frequent floods every year in the country, there is a huge loss of human lives and animals, damage to houses and crops. Area of crops damaged due to floods was 3.374 m. ha. during 2015. It has increased by 97.3% to 6.658 in 2016 above 2015. During 2017, it has decreased by -23.3% to 5.104 m. ha. in comparison to 2016.

Value of crops damaged was Rs. 6928.8 crores due to floods during 2017, up by 71% against Rs. 4052.723 crore during 2016. We have observed annual decline of -76.2% in value of crops damage due to floods during 2016 above 2015 from Rs. 17043.948 crores.
