Consumption of light distillates petroleum products in India during 2004-12

During 2004-12, Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of consumption of LPG light distillates petroleum products was 6%. During this period, consumption of LPG increased by 49.9% from 10245 thousand tonne in 2004-05 to 15358 thousand tonne in 2011-12. During this period, Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of consumption of Motor Spirit light distillates petroleum products was 8.9%. During this period, consumption of Motor Spirit increased by 81.7% from 8251 thousand tonne in 2004-05 to 14992 thousand tonne in 2011-12.

During this period, Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of consumption of Naphtha+NGL light distillates petroleum products was -3.2%. During this period, consumption of LPG decreased by 20.6% from 13993 thousand tonne in 2004-05 to 11105 thousand tonne in 2011-12. During this period, Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of consumption of others light distillates petroleum products was -2.9%. During this period, consumption of LPG decreased by 18.9% from 2715 thousand tonne in 2004-05 to 2202 thousand tonne in 2011-12.

Note: *: Provisional and not include data in respect of RIL SEZ Refinery as it is presumed that all products have been exported and not consumed domestically; Consumption data includes private sales & private imports also.
