Consumption of Electricity in Tamil Nadu during the year 2016-17

As per the data published in the Statistical Hand Book of 2018 released by Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Government of Tamil Nadu, it is noticed that the  major consumer of Electricity in Tamil Nadu, is the Industries sector at 31,872 Million Units, constituting 38.39% of the total consumption, followed by other consumers as shown below:

Domestic Consumers ——– 24,530 Million units, at 29.55%

Agricultural Sector     ——–  11,733 Million units, at 14.13%

Commercial Consumers —–  9,300 Million Units, at 11.20% and

Miscellaneous              ——–  5,583 Million units, 6.73%

(Includes Public Lighting and Water Works)

The graph shown below clearly explains the power consumed by the above different categories in Tamil Nadu during the year 2016-17.
