Comparison of vaccination of Covishield and Covaxin to the beneficiaries Health Unit District wise in Tamil Nadu upto 31st August 2021

Corona Virus Disease (COVID 19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered Corona Virus. The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose, when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The best way to prevent and slow down the transmission is to protect yourself and others from infection, by washing off your hands frequently either by soap or using a sanitizer, not touching your face and following social distancing guidelines.

Covishield and Covaxin, are the vaccines recommended by the Government for use currently to the eligible people/beneficiaries at the forefront of India’s fight against COVID-19. The minor and temporary adverse events, such as headache, fever, fatigue or pain at the injection site are common after all vaccinations. People should seek medical attention, if one experiences any persistent, new or worsening symptoms.

The Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine is bringing out the daily status report on the COVID-19 vaccination, Health unit Districts wise in Tamil Nadu. Based on this data, the graph arrived below, explains the health unit district wise comparison on the vaccination of Covishield and Covaxin to the beneficiaries concerned.

Based on the data, it is clear that Chennai district leads in the vaccination of Covishield to most of the Beneficiaries followed by Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli, Tiruppur and Madurai and districts and with respect to Covaxin, Chennai district leads again followed by Coimbatore, Salem, Vellore and Erode districts.
