Coal Based Sponge Iron Production from 2013-14 to 2018-19

Compound annual growth rate of 6.61% has been observed in coal based sponge iron production from 2013-14 to 2018-19. In absolute term the return was 37.73% in coal based sponge iron production during the aforesaid period.

Coal based sponge iron production was 20189 thousand tonnes during 2013-14. It has increased by 8.42% to 21889 thousand tonnes during 2014-15 above 2013-14. We have observed annual growth of 61 basis points in coal based sponge iron production during 2017-18 from 23908 thousand tonnes during 2016-17. Coal based sponge iron production was 27806 thousand tonnes during 2018-19, up by 15.6% versus 24053 thousand tonnes during 2017-18.

Maximum annual growth of 19.62% has been seen in 2016-17 in coal based sponge iron production during the period under consideration. Highest annual decline of -8.69% has been found in 2015-16 in coal based sponge iron production during the period under consideration.
