Central Fund Released under MGNREGS from 2014-15 to 2018-19

India has witnessed an increasing trend in release of central fund under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) from 2014-15 to 2018-19. Compound annual growth rate of 17.02% has been seen in release of central fund under MGNREGS during the period under consideration.

Central fund released under MGNREGS was Rs. 32,977.42 crore in 2014-15. It has increased by 13.23% to Rs. 37,340.72 crore during 2015-16 above 2014-15. In absolute term the growth was Rs. 4,363.3 crore during 2015-16 against 2014-15. We have observed annual growth of 14.41% in release of central fund under MGNREGS during 2017-18 from Rs. 48,219.05 crore during 2016-17. Central fund released under MGNREGS was Rs. 61,829.55 crore during 2018-19, up by 12.08% versus Rs. 55,166.75 crore during 2017-18. In absolute term the increase was Rs. 6,662.8 crore during 2018-19 above 2017-18.

The maximum annual growth of 29.13% has been found in 2016-17 in release of central fund under MGNREGS during the period under consideration.
