Central Assistance Released to Meet Expenditure on Intra-State Movement & Foodgrains & Fair Price Shop Dealers Margin under NFSA in 2019-20 & 2020-21

The total central assistance released for meeting expenditure on intra-state movement & handling of food-grains & fair price shop dealers margin under National Food Security Act (NFSA) in India was Rs. 1,678.78 crore in 2019-20 and Rs. 1,800 crore in 2020-21. The top 5 States/UTs with respect to central assistance released for meeting expenditure on intra-state movement & handling of food-grains & fair price shop dealers margin under NFSA during 2020-21 were Bihar, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Chhattisgarh.

The amount of Rs. 488.74, 368.08, 146.24, 135.75 and 124.07 crore was released for Bihar, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Chhattisgarh respectively as central assistance for meeting expenditure on intra-state movement & handling of food-grains & fair price shop dealers margin under NFSA during 2020-21.
