Cargo Traffic handled by Non-Major Ports in India from 2014-15 to 2018-19

Compound annual growth rate of 5.3% has been observed in cargo traffic handled by non-major ports during 2014-15 to 2018-19.

Cargo traffic handled by non-major ports was 470.6 million tonnes in 2014-15. It has shrunk by -100 basis points to 465.91 million tonnes during 2015-16 above 2014-15. In absolute term the decline was -4.69 million tonnes during 2015-16 against 2014-15. We have seen annual growth of 9.04% in cargo traffic handled by non-major ports during 2017-18 from 485.22 million tonnes during 2016-17. Cargo traffic handled by non-major ports was 578.5 million tonnes during 2018-19, up by 9.34% versus 529.1 million tonnes during 2017-18. In absolute term the increase was 49.40 million tonnes during 2018-19 above 2017-18.

The maximum annual growth of 9.34% has been found in 2018-19 in cargo traffic handled by non-major ports during the period under consideration.
