Capacity of Crude Steel Production v/s Crude Steel Production in India from 2013-14 to 2018-19

Capacity of crude steel production was 1,02,261 tonne in India during 2013-14. It has increased by 7.42% to 1,09,851 tonne during 2014-15 above 2013-14. We have seen annual growth of 7.56% in capacity of crude steel production in India during 2017-18 from 1,28,277 tonne during 2016-17. Capacity of crude steel production in India was 1,42,236 tonne during 2018-19, up by 3.09% against 1,37,975 tonne during 2017-18.

Production of Crude steel was 81,694 tonne in India during 2013-14. It has increased by 8.92% to 88,979 tonne during 2014-15 above 2013-14. The capacity utilization in crude steel production was 79.9% in 2013-14 and 81% in 2014-15. Annual growth of 5.3% has been observed in crude steel production in India during 2017-18 from 97,936 tonne during 2016-17. Production of crude steel was 1,10,923 tonne in India during 2018-19, up by 7.56% versus 1,03,131 tonne during 2017-18. The capacity utilization in crude steel production was 74.7% and 78% during 2017-18 and 2018-19 respectively.
