During 1999-2013, bank credit grew at an average annual growth rate of 21.29% and bank deposit grew at an average annual growth rate of 17.76%. During this period, for bank credit maximum annual growth (30.9%) was observed in 2004-05 and minimum annual growth (15.3%) was observed in 2003-04, for bank deposit maximum annual growth (23.8%) was observed in 2006-07 and minimum annual growth (13%) was observed in 2004-05. In 2012-13, bank credit and deposit grew at annual growth rates of 17% and 16% respectively.
