Average Number of Trains Run Daily from 2000-01 to 2013-14

The average number of passenger trains run daily by the Indian Railways in the year 2000-01 was 8520. The average number of goods trains run daily by the Indian Railways in the year 2000-01 was 5802.

The average number of passenger trains run daily by the Indian Railways in the year 2005-06 was 8750. It recorded a growth of 230 trains (2.7%) as compared to the year 2000-01. The average number of goods trains run daily by the Indian Railways in the year 2005-06 was 8645. It recorded a growth of 2843 trains (49%) as compared to the year 2000-01. The average number of passenger trains run daily by the Indian Railways in the year 2010-11 was 11824. It recorded a growth of 3074 trains (35.13%) as compared to the year 2005-06. The average number of goods trains run daily by the Indian Railways in the year 2010-11 was 7362. It recorded a decline of -1283 trains (-14.84%) as compared to the year 2005-06.

The average number of passenger trains run daily by the Indian Railways in the year 2013-14 was 12961. It recorded a growth of 1137 trains (9.62%) as compared to the year 2010-11. The average number of goods trains run daily by the Indian Railways in the year 2013-14 was 8637. It recorded a growth of 1275 trains (17.32%) as compared to the year 2010-11. The average number of passenger trains run daily by the Indian Railways recorded a growth of 4441 trains (52.12%) during the period from 2000-01 to 2013-14. The average number of goods trains run daily by the Indian Railways recorded a growth of 2835 trains (48.86%) during the period from 2000-01 to 2013-14.
