Average Distance Travelled by a Railway Passenger from 2000-01 to 2013-14

The average distance travelled by a sub-urban passenger of the Indian Railways in the year 2000-01 was 31.1 Kilometres. The average distance travelled by a non sub-urban passenger of the Indian Railways in the year 2000-01 was 186.7 Kilometres.

The average distance travelled by a sub-urban passenger of the Indian Railways in the year 2005-06 was 32 Kilometres. It recorded a growth of 0. 9 Kilometres (2.89%) as compared to the year 2000-01. The average distance travelled by a non sub-urban passenger of the Indian Railways in the year 2005-06 was 212.6 Kilometres. It recorded a growth of 25.9 Kilometres (13.87%) as compared to the year 2000-01.

The average distance travelled by a sub-urban passenger of the Indian Railways in the year 2010-11 was 33.8 Kilometres. It recorded a growth of 1.8 Kilometres (5.62%) as compared to the year 2005-06. The average distance travelled by a non sub-urban passenger of the Indian Railways in the year 2010-11 was 234.4 Kilometres. It recorded a growth of 21.8 Kilometres (10.25%) as compared to the year 2005-06. The average distance travelled by a sub-urban passenger of the Indian Railways in the year 2013-14 was 37 Kilometres. It recorded a growth of 3.2 Kilometres (9.47%) as compared to the year 2010-11. The average distance travelled by a non sub-urban passenger of the Indian Railways in the year 2013-14 was 257.5 Kilometres. It recorded a growth of 23.1 Kilometres (9.85%) as compared to the year 2010-11.

The average distance travelled by a sub-urban passenger of the Indian Railways recorded a growth of 5.9 Kilometres (18.97%) during the period 2000-01 to 2013-14. The average distance travelled by a non sub-urban passenger of the Indian Railways recorded a growth of 70.8 Kilometres (37.92%) during the period 2000-01 to 2013-14.
