The average days of employment provided per household under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in India was 40 in 2014-15. It increased to 49 in 2015-16 (P), recording a growth of 9 person-days as compared to 2014-15. In percentage terms, the growth was 22.5% during the period from 2014-15 to 2015-16 (P). The top 10 states in terms of the average days of employment provided per household were: Tripura, Mizoram, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Meghalaya and Jharkhand during 2015-16 (P).
The average days of employment provided per household in Tripura was 88 in 2014-15. It increased to 94 in 2015-16 (P), recording a growth of 6 person-days as compared to 2014-15. In percentage terms, the growth was 6.82% during the period from 2014-15 to 2015-16 (P). The average days of employment provided per household in Mizoram was 22 in 2014-15. It increased to 69 in 2015-16 (P), recording a growth of 47 person-days as compared to 2014-15. In percentage terms, the growth was 213.64% during the period from 2014-15 to 2015-16 (P). Mizoram recorded maximum growth in average days of employment provided per household under MGNREGA both in absolute terms i.e. 47 person-days as well as in percentage terms i.e. 213.64% in 2015-16 (P) as compared to 2014-15
The average days of employment provided per household in Sikkim was 43 in 2014-15. It increased to 67 in 2015-16 (P), recording a growth of 24 person-days as compared to 2014-15. In percentage terms, the growth was 55.81% during the period from 2014-15 to 2015-16 (P). The average days of employment provided per household in Tamil Nadu was 47 in 2014-15. It increased to 61 in 2015-16 (P), recording a growth of 14 person-days as compared to 2014-15. In percentage terms, the growth was 29.79% during the period from 2014-15 to 2015-16 (P). The average days of employment provided per household in Maharashtra was 53 in 2014-15. It increased to 60 in 2015-16 (P), recording a growth of 7 person-days as compared to 2014-15. In percentage terms, the growth was 13.21% during the period from 2014-15 to 2015-16 (P).
The average days of employment provided per household in Andhra Pradesh was 55 in 2015-16 (P). The average days of employment provided per household in Rajasthan was 55 in 2015-16 (P). The average days of employment provided per household in Telangana was 55 in 2015-16 (P). The average days of employment provided per household in Meghalaya was 54 in 2015-16 (P). The average days of employment provided per household in Jharkhand was 52 in 2015-16 (P).
