The number of Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) at Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Sub Centres in India was 212185 in March 2015. The top 10 states in terms of the number of ANM at PHCs and Sub Centres were: Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in March 2015.

The number of ANM at PHCs and Sub Centres in Uttar Pradesh was 23731 in March 2015. It accounted for 11.18% of the number of ANM at PHCs and Sub Centres in India in March 2015.

The number of ANM at PHCs and Sub Centres in Bihar was 19499 in March 2015. It accounted for 9.19% of the number of ANM at PHCs and Sub Centres in India in March 2015.
