Analysis of Self Help Group (SHG) and Members under National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM)

Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM) is a flagship poverty alleviation program implemented by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. It aims to reduce poverty by enabling the poor household to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities resulting in sustainable and diversified livelihood options for the poor. This is one of the world’s largest initiatives to improve the livelihoods of the poor.

Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) aims at mobilizing about 9 crore rural poor households into Self Help Groups (SHGs) in a phased manner and provide them long-term support such that they diversify their livelihoods, improve their incomes and quality of life. The National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) is a federated program that is run via various State Missions and a tiered network of community institutions. NRLM boasts of a large number of women members of 10 Cr into Self Help Groups (SHGs) of 90 Lakh SHGs. NRLM Scheme beneficiary’s data with the social category are available at the granularity of village level in the OGD platform.

This Chart shows information about the State/UT-wise total members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM) during 2023-24. The total members were 1,37,99,026 of Self Help Groups (SHGs). The top 10 state/UT in terms of Self Help Groups (SHGs) members were Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Kerala, and Assam.

The chart shows information about the state/UT Self Help Groups (SHGs) count under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM) during 2023-24. The total of Self Help Groups (SHGs) count was 4, 83,934 under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM). The top 10 state/Ut in terms of Self Help Groups (SHGs) counts were West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Assam, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha.
