Amount Deposited in Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana Accounts as on 3rd July 2019

“Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY)” was launched on 28th August 2014 under the National Mission for Financial Inclusion. Under PMJDY, account holders are provided banking services free of charge and without any requirement of maintaining minimum balance.

In India, total amount of Rs. 100495.95 crore was deposited in PMJDY accounts as on 3rd July 2019. The top 5 States/UTs with respect to amount deposited in PMJDY accounts as on 03.07.2019 were Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

The amount of Rs. 18235.1 crore was deposited in PMJDY accounts of Uttar Pradesh as on 03.07.2019, which accounted 18.15% of the total amount deposited in PMJDY accounts in India. There was deposit of Rs. 12397.7 crore in PMJDY accounts of West Bengal as on 3rd July 2019. It accounted 12.34% of the total amount deposited in PMJDY accounts in India as on 03.07.2019. The amount of Rs. 9888.03 crore was deposited in PMJDY accounts of Bihar as on 03.07.2019, which accounted 9.84% of the total amount deposited in PMJDY accounts in India.

As on 3rd July 2019, there was deposit of Rs. 7541.72 crore and Rs. 6058.64 crore in PMJDY accounts of Rajasthan and Maharashtra respectively. Rajasthan accounted for 7.5% and Maharashtra accounted for 6.03% of the total amount deposited in PMJDY accounts in India as on 03.07.2019.

The aforementioned top 5 states accounted for 53.85% of the total amount deposited in PMJDY accounts in India as a whole as on 3rd July 2019.
